RedR UK and Digital Training Solutions Ltd (“we”/ “our”/ “us”) are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This policy (together with our Terms of Use and any other documents referred to on our site) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.  It also describes the choices available to you regarding the use of, your access to, and how to update and correct your personal information. Please read the following carefully to understand our practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it. By engaging with (the “Site” / “Platform”) you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted this Privacy Policy.

Data protection laws require companies to describe their role and responsibility when handling personal information. When you access and interact with our Platform, register for a course, communicate with us, etc. we are the data controller.

When you engage with the Platform because your employer or member organisation has paid for your access to our content, then:

  • your employer or member organisation is the data controller with respect to the user information it provides to us. This information typically includes first name, last name, and email address. Where your employer/member organisation is data controller in this way, we act as a data processor under data protection laws, meaning we use the information to provide a service to your employer.
  • We are the data controller for information provided directly by you or as a result of interacting with the Platform, including assessment data, and demographic information such as your gender, year of birth, and your work sector.

When you register as a user of the Platform via an Individual account, we are the data controller for all personal information provided by you and collected by the Platform as you access and use the Platform.

1. Information we may collect from you

We may collect and process the following data about you:

  • Name
  • Age
  • Gender
  • Nationality
  • Country of work
  • Employment status
  • Email Address
  • Payment information (made through secure encrypted payment services).
  • Information that you provide by filling in forms on our site: (“our site”). This includes information provided at the time of registering to use our site, subscribing to our service, posting material or requesting further services.
  • General, aggregated, demographic, and non-personal data (such as aggregated anonymous information about website usage) may be collected by the Company. It will not be linked to any of your personal data, through cookies or other means, without your consent.
  • If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.
  • Information which you provide to us by completing surveys, and which we use for research purposes.  You do not have to respond to these surveys.
  • Details of transactions you carry out through our site and of the fulfilment of your orders.
  • Details of your visits to our site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is required for our own billing purposes or otherwise, and the resources that you access.

2. IP addresses and cookies

We may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers the Project Donors: USAID and UKAID (“our donors”). This is statistical data about our users' demographic data, survey results, browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.

For the same reason, we may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer's hard drive. They help us to improve our site and to deliver a better and more personalised service. They enable us:

  • To estimate our audience size and usage pattern.
  • To store information about your preferences, and so allow us to customise our site according to your individual interests.
  • To speed up your searches.
  • To recognise you when you return to our site.

We use the following cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies. These are cookies that are required for the operation of our website. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to log into secure areas of our website, use a shopping cart or make use of e-billing services.

Disabling cookies

3. Where we store your personal data

The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers.  Such staff maybe engaged in, among other things,  the fulfilment of your order, the processing of your payment details and the provision of support services. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing.  We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. Any payment transactions will be encrypted [using SSL technology].  Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential.  We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk.  Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

4. Uses made of the information

Information you give to us:

We use your personal information together with other personally non-identifiable information to help us better understand our users, to personalize and improve your experience with our Site, and to improve the content and functionality of the Platform.

This may include providing information about our goods and services that we feel may interest you and enhance your interaction with our Site. We will communicate with you about these goods and services via email or on our Site. These communications may include newsletters, promotional emails, or product updates. We will use your information for this purpose only if you have given your consent to receive marketing material from us at the point we collected your information, where required by law, or otherwise in our legitimate interests, provided these interests do not override your right to object to such communications.

When you register on the Platform, you will be asked to provide us with personal and employment information such as name, year of birth, email address, country location, the organisation you work for and other similar information. You may choose to enter personal data relating to your race or ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation when using the Platform. This type of information is considered to be a part of the “Special Categories of Personal Data” under Article 9 of the GDPR. By choosing to enter the above categories of personal data, you are giving explicit consent to the processing of this personal data for purposes referenced in this Policy. We will use this information to allow you to use the Platform, including to purchase courses.

If you purchase a course, we will record details related to that course including whether you start and/or complete the course, the scores you achieve in quizzes, your responses to interactive scenarios, certificates you earn, your responses to evaluation and feedback surveys, and other information relating to your learning. We use this information for the management and provision of courses.

If your access to the Platform is paid for by an employer or member organisation, we also share this information with them.

Information we collect about you from your use of the Platform:

We will use this information in our legitimate interests (where we have considered these are not overridden by your rights), to administer the Platform, and for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, and statistical survey purposes. We will also use this information to keep Mission Ready safe and secure, for measuring the effectiveness of how we present content and how we market and advertise.

We use non-personally identifiable information in our log files to analyse trends, to administer the Platform, to track users’ movements in and around the Platform, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We also utilise unstructured machine learning technologies to understand user behaviours and to provide user-specific recommendations and other personalisation of our Site experience.

Information we receive from other sources:

We will combine information from other sources (such as your employer or member organisation, where you access to our content is paid for by an employer or member organisation) with information you give to us and information we collect about you in our legitimate business interests (where we have considered that these are not overridden by your rights). We will use this information and the combined information for the purposes set out above (depending on the types of information we receive).

We use information held about you in the following ways:

  • To ensure that content from our site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer.
  • To provide you with information, products or services that you request from us or which we feel may interest you, where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes.
  • To carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us.
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of our service, when you choose to do so.
  • To notify you about changes to our service.
  • To report back to our project donors- USAID and UKAID. We are required to notify our donors of know how many people have purchased licenses over a certain time-period. We collect demographic data (age, gender, nationality) in order to provide disaggregated, by anonymous user data to our donors. We report user’s pre and post training test scores- these results are anonymised.
  • We request that users undertake post-training evaluation surveys in order assess user satisfaction as well as to determine learning retention and use. Survey results are anonymous, and are shared with our donors as well as used by RedR UK for internal use, in order to make improvements to services.

5. E-mail Marketing

We will only contact existing users, with their permission, about goods and services which may be of interest. We will contact you about these by email.

If you are an existing customer, we will only contact you by electronic means (e-mail only) with information about goods and services similar to those which were the subject of a previous sale to you.

6. Links to other websites

This Privacy Policy applies only to The Site may contain links to other web sites not operated or controlled by us. The policies and procedures described here do not apply to web sites or other services that we do not operate or control. These links from our Site do not imply that we endorse or have reviewed those web sites or other services. We suggest contacting those services directly for information on their privacy policies.

Payment processing

Payments made on our Site are made through of our payment gateway provider: PayPal (“Payment Processor”), which may be changed from time to time. You will be providing credit or debit card information directly to the Payment Processor which operates a secure server to process payment details, encrypting your credit/debit card information and authorizing payment. Information which you supply to the Payment Processor is not within our control and is subject to the Payment Processor’s own privacy policy and terms and conditions.

7. Disclosure of your information

We consider your personal information to be a vital part of our relationship with you and do not sell your personal information to third parties. There are, however, certain circumstances in which we may share your personal information with certain third parties, as follows:

Agents, Consultants and Related Third Parties:

We sometimes hire other companies to perform certain business-related functions, such as sending email on our behalf, payment processing, or conducting market research. When we employ another company to perform a function of this nature, we only provide them with the information that they need to perform their specific function. These companies are not permitted to use any personal information that we share with them for any other purpose aside from providing services to us.

Business Plans and Company Partnership/Subscriptions:

We partner with certain third parties to provide our services to their employees or their community members. As part of such partnerships, a third party may pay for the subscription for its employees or community members or otherwise contract with us to make your subscription available to you, and we may share information about your use of our services with the third party. If your subscription was provided by your employer or a member organisation, we may share information you provide, or information we may otherwise collect through your registration and use of our services, with such third party. This information may include course viewing history, course viewing time, course or assessment completion, course quality ratings and feedback, certifications, performance-related metrics, and other personal information.

Business transfers:

As we develop our business, we might sell or buy businesses or assets. Your personal information may be transferred to a buyer or other successor in the event of a corporate sale, merger, reorganization, dissolution, or similar event in which personal information held by us about our Platform users is among the assets transferred.

Legal Requirements:

In certain situations, we may be required to disclose personal information in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. We reserve the right to disclose your personal information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or similar legal process served on us or Mission Ready.

We will take reasonable steps to ensure that we only collect that personal information that is relevant for the purposes for which it is to be used. Furthermore, we will not process your personal information in a way that is incompatible with these purposes.

8. Control of your information

When you register, or otherwise give us personal information, we will not share that information with third parties without your permission, other than for the limited exceptions already listed. It will only be used for the purposes stated in this Privacy Policy.

When we act as a data processor, we will only process personal information in accordance with the instructions given by thedata controller. /p>When we act as a data controller, we will act in accordance with your permission to offer you our services and as otherwise instructed by you. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe. Requesting deletion of your account means your personal information is permanently deleted and cannot be retrieved. Your learning account will be erased from servers. Access to your learning journey, certificates and past courses will also be deleted.

We retain your information while your account is active or as needed to provide services to you and your employer or member organisation, if your access to our content is paid for by an employer or member organisation. Thereafter, we may retain certain personal information indefinitely as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We may also retain aggregate information for research purposes and to help us develop and improve our Site and services.

10. Information about enforcement and dispute resolution

We will conduct compliance audits of our relevant privacy practices to verify compliance with this Privacy Policy. Any employee that we determine has acted in violation of this Privacy Policy will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
